The Bradley Method
This past Saturday, Leonard and I went to our first birthing class. We are taking a series of classes based on what is called "The Bradley Method. This series of class (total of 8, 2 1/2 hour classes) is required for us by our birthing center for women who are having their first child or just their first natural birth. The Bradley Method was created by Dr. Robert A Bradley (1917- 1998). He was the co-founder of the American Academy of Husband-Coached Childbirth. If you are interested in more information on what the Bradley Method is you can check out www.bradleybirth.com. During our first class we met Linda, our instructor. The class is being held in her home in Richardson. We also met 5 other very nice couples who are taking the class with us. The best part of the class, by far, was when I got to lay on the floor with a couple of pillows and Leonard had to practice helping me to relax by rubbing my back. I almost fell asleep... imagine that! Anyway, we have two workbooks to go through. I think we are going to like the classes. I just really hope the end up being worth the $300 we payed to take the class.:D

Back to Blogging!
Well, I have decided to continue blogging. My last post was in 2009, so it's been quite a while. Then last December I started a separate blog called "Hey Hey Baby" about adoption. I'm sure that most of you who will read this know that I stopped posting about adoption when Leonard and I found out in January that we were expecting. I am now almost 7 months along, and we are very excited about being parents. Our son, Miller, is expected to arrive on September 13th, 2011. I am no longer working at Primrose. I miss my class, but I know I am going to enjoy being able to be a stay-at-home mom. I just wish I knew other moms that stay at home and have babies the same age that live on my end of town. I'm planning to attend Square One and will hopefully meet a few there. Square One is a group that meets for 12 weeks during the day at IBC and is for first time moms. As for right now, I am trying to get our apartment ready for people. I know we will have some people come over and visit after Miller is born. For those who know me well, you know that we don't have people over very often. I don't like people coming over unless our apartment is spotless, and it hardly ever is! Neither of us are very good at keeping things neat. We have so much stuff and not a whole lot of space. Plus, our little Theodora has torn up the bathroom. Not to mention, she still likes to poop in her kennel and it stinks! We are working on getting her potty trained and we plan to redo the bathroom. We have 10 weeks before Miller is born for our apartment to look like I want it to for people to come over. And for anyone who reads this... if you happen to come over at some point and there are things laying around or dishes in the sink, don't judge! I know I'm not a good housekeeper and I don't see that improving much when I have an infant to take care of. :D That's about that is going on in our lives right now. Preparing for our baby to arrive. Nothing else new. I am going to attempt to actually blog once a week. We will see how that goes!
